Took a friend fishing by block today, not such a nice ride over but the fat lady is warming up her vocal cords. My man gets seasick watching jaws so I’ve been telling him to get a prescription for the patch and all I can say is it definitely works, minus the hallucinations he was having.

Dropped the hook in some windy conditions and after the boat settled we started slowly picking at some fish. Made a slight adjustment by bringing in the anchor line about fifty feet and I started picking away. My friend, not so much. Caught our limit of tog a couple of cbass and two keeper cod by 11:30. The wind dropped out so we headed south to do some jigging.

First spot nothing but short cbass a couple of porgy and two big chubb mackerel which I saved to feed the seals in the harbor. Moved to the second spot and finished our limit of nice cbass and another cod. Final tally, 8 tog, 12 cbass, 3 cod and 2 chubbs for the seals. Smooth ride back to montauk on a nice overall day.

Not sure how big a boat you have but if there's a weather window, late November thru December sees the biggest kind of tog out there. Especially the often forgotten Cartwright grounds ?

It definitely was sporty yesterday morning , ran across Peconic haul out for the year. Sounds like a great trip for you.
