Moriches Bay Skinny Water Fluke Improves!

We had a few trips the past week and most trips saw an improvement ( Except Tuesday when it was 109 with the heat index!)

june 19 saw a nice steady pick of short fluke with a handful of keepers all 22 inches up to 5.5 lbs.

we lost a very large one at the side of the boat that shook off about 3-4 foot below the surface 💔.

June 24 ☀️ 😓 absolutely brutal heat and a very slow pick of fish for Nyangler member Steve C. Charter. Water temp went from 74 on outgoing a few days before and went to 85! Few fish were landed and all foul hooked biting odd I believe because the extreme rise in water temp. The group fished hard but it wasn’t to be unfortunately. Tried all over for cooler temps but it wasn’t just a slow pick. The other local charter boat reported the same while there is a party boat in the same area that claimed many limits….believe that if you want we were fishing next to them lol

june 26/27 blowouts due to the east wind 25kts.

June 28

beautiful conditions and nice cool water, Nyangler Hunters charter had an excellent burst of short life in areas of the bay we worked. Some fine keepers were brought aboard to 22 inches. We did however drop two very nice fish that were 6-8 lbs on two separate areas. Not the anglers fault, they shook off.

june 29

nice conditions again ( it matters!) and the group was rewarded with some fat moriches bay keepers up to 6.8 lbs.
some blues rounded out the catch and the fluke that were caught were biting aggressively. Some had muddy bottoms while other were new fish that just came in.

it should start getting good now as there was some bait in spots as well thst we had the fish.

check back for open boat dates as the season continues or if you would like to book a private trip.
