Never Should Have Left The Dock Early Today & 2nd Tagged Fish of the Season!!

Sashayed down to the dock at 06:45 this AM because that was the earliest on the flood that I had enough water to go out today. Went to my "Never Fail Old Faithful" early flood striper shrine and guess what???? NOTHING, not even a swirl after 2 drifts.

Not to worry, let's go to the scene of yesterday's success. Multiple drifts, NOTHING again, WTF???

Hit another 2 historically solid incoming spots with the same results, or lack there of. Figured I'd hit the first place again since it was on the way home, but this time I'd start my drift further up tide. Motored over got in position, killed the engine, took cast and BAM, fish on. That's more like it, but the fishing was still off so after 2 more, I headed home, as I had a dead running light and I wanted to sort that out. Got the boat settled, but before I worked on the light, I had to take my ritual 3 final casts for the day. Tossed out Cast #1 and BAM, attsa mo betta!! That kept up for a while, with me catching a total of 7 from the dock to 23" including a fish with a Hudson River Foundation tag, my second on for 2020, and the 4th tagged striper from the Hudson River. I love to remind one of our members of this since he likes to claim that stripers do not migrate further 50 miles from their natal ecosystem, an obviously incorrect claim in that Pemaquid Maine is a bit more than 50 miles from the Hudson River estuary...

I have also caught other tagged fish, one from the American Littoral Society tagged in NH and another from the Berkeley Striper Club in NJ which I assume was tagged somewhere in the Garden State...
