? On the Tsunami Carbon Shield 2 spinning rods..

Flukinit

Angler
Anyone using any of these? Been seeing them used in several videos and shows mostly paired with the Tsunami Evict. Look like very nice rods and priced ar about $109 a very fair price. Most shows and videos see guys tossing small bucktails or lead heads with plastics on it. I would be looking to bucktail the fluksters.
With shops currently closed look forward to checking them once they are reopened. Any additional info is appreciated. Thanks

Not those but last year I bought my first Tsunami rod, a 6' Medium Slimwave that I use jigging bucktails tipped with Gulp off my kayak. I paired it with a Daiwa BG200 and no one can believe how light that setup is. I usually only kayak fish for three hours at a time but never did feel wrist fatigue despite constant jigging. I caught a 26" fluke, other smaller keepers, and a bunch of summer weaks with it and love how the whole rod gets "in the action" instead of just the tip. My Slimwave was about that same price.

That certainly is a nice looking rod. Were they using it in shallows and flats or in the deep on those shows?
I've have seen more videos of guys fishing the flats and shallow stuff but have also seen some fluke and sea bass on the rod. I'd be looking to jig fluke up on it.

I’m all for trying different things on the sea bass grounds?
Early mornings before the winds come up and you can sit on your favorite piece and drop straight down in 80’ with very little weight and pull up double headers is one of my favorites?

Pequa was looking at the BG2000 see it has a 4.4lbs drag max while the 2500 is about 13 lb. Did you ever feel underpowered with the 2000? Will look at both once shops open up which is hopefully soon. Thanks

I only caught one fluke at 26" and the biggest summer weak was just 23" along with a couple of 2-3 lb bluefish. Never felt that was a problem. I had 14lb braid last year, switching to 10 lb braid for this summer. Mind you, I bought the smaller reel with the intent of going as light as I possibly could so that I could jig as much as I wanted during my whole paddle. My BIL, a friend from work and my usual fishing buddy all could not believe how light I went. I did use this light setup when my better half and I went out on the bay boat twice last summer and although she outfished me (robins and shorts for both of us) I still felt confident fishing with the rig from a boat and not just the kayak.
