Replacement bulbs for Yamaha Analog Gauges?

Learned Colleagues: The light is out on my Yamaha Analog Pro II Fuel Level Gauge. All connections are good, AND the meter is functioning fine, just stopped lighting up. I can't find a replacement bulb and was wondering if such a thing existed. Anyone know?

Now the "fine print".
  • If I find a bulb, it's going to take a Cirque de Soleil contortionist to get it in so I will probably have it done at a boatyard
  • A new gauge is only $52 and will probably go in faster than the bulb, so less $ for the boatyard to install it
  • The current sender is working really well with the gauge and I probably have the "best", and that is relative, reading I've ever had for this gauge
  • I never run my fuel down much bellow 3/4 of a full tank
  • I rarely run in the dark and there's always a flashlight nearby if needed
Based on the above, I'm damn close to living with this minor issue. Is there a valid reason for me to replace/repair it?

First, have you called Jill ? Second, the valid reason you may need that is when you find you can catch the Big uns at night with eels you will need it /should have it without blowing your night vision with a flashlight. JMHO.

Glow from the cell phone set at low intensity will light it up enough, but will call Jill. Like I said, I never set put the boat to bed with less than 3/4 a tank so it's really not an issue.

Right now this issue is on the "Winterization" list. I might just spring for the new gauge since I was able to "fix" my 360° light problem. The plastic clip that locks the light pole upright disintegrated because of UV damage, shocking, eh? Call the company, "No, we don't sell the clips, you'll have to buy a new light", yeah right at $200. Tried high-end duct tape, but that didn't hold up. Found a $4 locking wood clamp at the hardware store and it's all good.

That's what happens when you buy a $200. anchor light. They are usually no better than the $40. ones. Even the wire is made in China.

It's what came on the boat and I need an articulating 2' one, height to clear the radar dome, and fold down for shrink wrap.

I DID find a one footer on sale for $16 and bought that as it just clears the radar dome and could be mounted a bit high to clear the dome. I bought it because Amazon showed a photo of the "older model" which meant I could have taken the clip off of it and transferred it to my light. This newer version shows that they figured out their original idea sucked and this one has a far better system for securing in place, and it's an LED. It's another, "Maybe I'll use it" and when the the old light dies, this one will go on.

How many of us have that stockpile of "Gee I got a really good deal on this and bought it because I may use it in the future" items???
