Rockaway Inlet Fluke

Fished Rockaway inlet yesterday, morning was very foggy but it started off okay with decent short action. Bluefish showed up about 2 hours into the trip, tried bucktailing under the birds, but nothing but more shorts.
Ran all around the inlet trying different spots, but did not catch a fluke over 17". Overall pretty bad trip for this time of year. Water temps were at 62 degrees.
Will give it another go next week, maybe i'll have to try the bay or ocean.
Anybody else have different luck?

I fished in the bay near Floyd bennet. Just a couple shorts and some robins. No keepers and not many shorts
