Striped Bass Draft Addendum VI Public Hearings

Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) has approved and released Atlantic Striped Bass Draft Addendum VI (PDF) for public comment. There will be two public hearings held in New York to announce the details of the addendum and gather public input.

Why is NY in such a hurry to get these hearings in?

Just guessing, but they expect a large turnout for these meeting adits does take time for the staff to write-up all of the comments and then they get consolidated for the meeting materials for the next board meeting. Plus I'm sure a number of commissioners are already talking about it ( I spoke to Mike Luisi about it yesterday) and everything has to be done for the next meeting.
