Went out Sunday 8:30 AM to troll for Bonita, Blues, Spanish Mackerel again. Terrible fishing, just one small Bonita less than a pound. Water was dirty after the storm and that and the storm pushed those fish offshore. Water was 75 degrees, nice flat as a lake. Got to the end of the Inlet going out, looked at all the breakers and it looked kind of scary. Stopped the Boat to see where the waves were going and after a minute saw an opening where there were no breakers and gunned the engine to quickly exit the inlet. Once I left the inlet it was flat as a lake , the calmest day I went out on .I think it was a little wind against the tide causing the breakers. When I came back the inlet was almost flat, just a million boat wakes. Trolled for 2 hours with feathers, terrible fishing. Gave up and went over to the Tankers and fished for Fluke in the big fleet of boats. Good solid action ,maybe it would have been better if I went there at the right tide. Very uncomfortable with all the flies ,when it's dead calm the flies come out. Amazing they fly out on the ocean. Went back in when the fishing slowed down , going thru the bay was a madhouse with all the boats. so glad I go fishing during the week. Next trip I'll go out to the Tankers again and go for Fluke out there . All those boats means the fishing is good. Maybe troll out and back. There were 10 or more Tankers out there , they're really backed up out there.
