Sorry for the late report. Sunday I did the short run from my slip to a few of my favorite lumps just outside the nissequogue river. I was happily surprised to find a good bite of cookie cutter 18.5-19 inch fluke. Not one over 19.5 but there was plenty of action. We ended with 6 keepers and countless shorts in about 4 hours fishing.
We also had a bass blitz that lasted 2 minutes. I want ready for it and missed it. I should have had a plug rod set up.
I was using straight gulp but I think they might have responded better with a spearing.
