tuna blanks back in stock

Calstar? Isn't that ancient technology? A lot of the Uber thin, Nano particle rods I see being used for scup are rated to 80lb. Cant they be used as tuna stand up rods?

Capt.. all glass tuna blanks are still great ..as far as power & forgiveness hard to beat..once you add carbon they tend to get stiff & not the best for rod holder tuna..

I did get a couple of seeker black steel that are all glass up front & composite back end very nice blank....

as for a Nano its been around a long time & being used by several different company's its a resin..if you want an excellent read on resin & graphite ..go to the CTS site ..they explain why Nano isn't the best resin system ..

inshore yes I do fish ultra thin carbon blanks for most inshore fish...Calastar GF , Seeker , lamiglas etc old technology ..but still has a strong following ...My AR line by United Composites are much better & so are CTS & Phenix..I personalty think seeker & calstar GF blanks for inshore fishing suck..along with several newer company's ..

when you get into a 100% carbon blank a couple of factors come into play..stiffness & being brittle ...CTS & I have solved these challenges ..also UC & Phenix do a very good job,,but Phenix can be brittle & I dont sell the entire line because of it..
