Went out very early around 6:30 in morning. Wind was blowing very hard from the NE and it was cold . It was high tide 3 in the morning and the tide was going out , tried the 2nd Wantagh for bass, cast a shad for a few minutes. Nothing. My brother fished off the Pier by the bridge a couple of nights earlier and he saw guys catching gorilla blues and bass on shads. Very raw out there today and there's brown snot in the water that's hard to get off your line/hooks . No bites with the shads , I tried fishing for fluke from the 2nd Wantagh West, not a bite. Went over to Swift Creek , tried drifting there. Nothing. Went further back in the bay by Woodcleft Canal because I saw a Party Boat there with a bunch of private boats. I didn't get a bite and nobody was catching anything around me. A couple of days ago they caught gorilla bluefish off the Guy Lombardo Pier. Saw 4 or 5 guys fishing there in the morning around 9 AM. Fished where the Party Boat fished, nothing. Suppose to be colder tomorrow .Really raw out there , at least my boat is working good and all the wiring, the battery switch worked fine. Used Pink teasers like the reports mentioned.Normally I wouldn't go out today, I was late getting out this year because I was working on the boat and I was itching to get out before the weekend.
