I think we all can agree that the full moon has an affect on the tides & the fishing. What if the eclipse happened during the height of the striper run in a month or so? Would the fish turn on for the duration of the event, or would they be confused & get lock jaw?

Very good question, John.

I have no scientific data to back this up but based upon my observations of Striped Bass habits over my lifetime they do tend to eat better in low light and strong tide situations. While we have all seen a hot bite in the middle of the day on occasion, sunrise, sunset and overcast days seem to see a much more consistent level of activity.

So, my guess is that they would turn on during an eclipse.
