Yellow eyed demons!

longcast

Well-Known Angler
I splashed the boat yesterday and got her situated in her home for the year. Grabbed dinner and decided to work out the kinks but fish for a bit too today. Met my brother in law around 530 and off we went. Managed 15 or so bluefish from 5-7 pounds on the first foray of the year. Also managed a bunch of short fluke as we meandered the bay. As a side note, a couple friends found some quality bass in a different portion of the bay.

We had one of those "stories of the day". My BIL launched a cast with a popper and noted a wind knot. Surprising to me as he usually has good line management. As he was bringing in the plug a blue grabs the plugs and pops his line. I fire a cast in that direction and get an immediate pop on the plug and it continues for 20 feet. As I retrieve my plug I see braid wrapped around my plug! I pull it up and hand it over to my BIL and he brings it to the boat with a nasty blue attached to his plug! The laughter and ribbing that ensued was one for the ages.

All in all, great shakedown for the boat and some great time with an awesome friend made my day!

Great way to start, Kevin. Plus, one of those stories that can only happen while fishing. I love it!

BTW, what camera lens were you using? That Fluke looks like a keeper to me!;)
