Salisbury Maryland (30 miles north of Lowes, 60 miles north of Onancock) or Norfolk.
Plan it properly & you can do a Norfolk Costco & Home Depot on the same run (120 miles round trip from Onancock). Bring a cooler & stop at Cape Charles Brewery on the way back.

There's also a Lowes & Best Buy in Norfolk if needed.

My Lowes, Super Walmart, Home Depot, etc. distances are about the same, but I could care less, means less congestion by the homestead. Just have to learn not to depend on "quick trips to stores" as a matter of course and depend on local Mom & Pops for most of your needs. Truly a small price to pay for peace and quiet...

There are enough local sellers who can pretty much cover your day to day stuf within 2 or 3 miles of my home. It's only occasionally that I need to do some distance shopping which isn't really all that big a deal. You just plan it properly.
"What else is in that area that I need?"

Also the fact that because there's no traffic & your driving on roads with a 60 MPH speed limit, that 30 mile trip to Lowes takes about the same time as it did to drive the 8 miles from my house in Kings Park to the Home Depot in Commack. About 20 to 30 minutes.
