I had fire on all day but may have an issue with chimney. Might consider having it lined or get a pro in to see what’s up.

Its clean and clear but I get too much blowback sometimes, it was not even windy today. I have doors and shut them making it just fine but I like it open and get more heat from it when glass doors open. Maybe it’s time for a insert.

I'd go with an insert - much, much more efficient & you'll burn less wood.

?
Mine's been burning non stop all season so far!

we're just beginning to approach the time of "burn all season" down here.........

I've been firing up at night pretty much everyday since Halloween. But the temperatures have been well into the high 40's to mid to high 50's during the day. No real need for it then.

Last few days though we've been down in the low 40's & the last two never got much above 35 the whole day.

Sooooooooooooo..

Totally get it that you are in a different burn zone
Its obvious that you burn as often as you can????

it'll go full tilt boogie come mid January - that's when we begin getting something resembling a NY winter - go for total broke come February (which is usually when snow - if any - appears) - then it's spring the next month & the gardens start going in & the banana trees start coming back up - that's why I only go through a little over two cords of wood per season

(y)

So I been burning nonstop since Halloween and I still have 4 cords left so I'm feeling confident I'll make it through the rest of the season with at least 2 cords or more for next year. 8-)

I have about 2 cords worth of unsplit wood ready to split. I'm hoping between all that and what's waiting for me at a friend's yard in Moriches that I'm fixing to get very soon I'll be in good shape for next winter(y)

I am burning 24/7 as well. I'm down to four racks which should hold me through April. No collecting for me this winter since we're moving south next fall. I still look at the free firewood on Craig's list I just can't help it (an addiction). Stay warm all spring is not that far away.

Well its the first saturday in awhile that i dont have to drive my son to any band practice or gigs, the snow is melted, i have open storage, and the weathers OK so i’m gonna roll out the splitter today?

Well i didnt break any records but split and stacked just under a cord
I used to just split like crazy and make a pile. I find it better on the back to load wheel barrow as i split and stack as I go
Stacks come out better too
