Whats on tonights Menu

Thanks, one of the guys in my FD has an oyster farm, so I tried them raw couple of times and I just couldn't get to like them. ?

some people just don't like the slippery feel as they go down - I understand that - try steaming them - you get 'em a bit of both ways - not raw but not fully cooked either

Fried oysters are very big down here. As a matter of fact most if not all restaurants here don't serve on a half shell but roasted or fried. And oysters are BIG Business here. They have a whole month of oyster festivals up & down the shore in November (harvesting season.)

I prefer on a half shell but also like 'em steamed or fried or roasted. Hell. I like oysters.

got my 7 fishes last night at Maurice (went with the Brit)

Crab Stuffed Local Flounder! Stuffed with Jumbo Lump and served with a Blood Orange/Truffle Emulsion, Tri-Color Carrots, Virginia Ham/Asiago Arancini and topped with a Butter Poached Lobster Claw Crown!

The Seaside Roll! A spicy mixture of Scallops, Tuna and Eastern Shore Blue Crab with Pepitos (baby pumpkin seeds) rolled with Black Tobiko.

bill came to $147 for both of us but that included a whole bottle of wine for the Brit, a Martini & glass of Cabernet for me. the Brits meal (also with an appetizer) & a slice of chocolate mousse cake for both of us for dessert

Brit had same appetizer I did (Mussels/Pancetta) but went with Paella as his main course (sorry - no picture on Maurice's site of that but it's outsanding).
 
Tonight:
Prior: Assorted Cheese Board with the requisite accompanying meats

Appetizer: Steamed Oysters

Entree: Spiral Smithfield Ham with pineapple & cherries + glaze supplied by Smithfield
Roasted with the ham delicata squash, parsnips, tri color carrots, hayman potatoes
Roasted alongside the ham - brussel sprouts with pancetta & drizzled with honey

Assorted Beers from the Cape Charles Brewery, some Whiskey, some Wine (both Red & White)
