Bait, don't like the way Gulp sits on those hooks.Curious. Do you tip yours with a small Gulp or bait ?
Looks like my box from Harvey!
The bottom row second one from left. He helped me by creating a color scheme (mullet) to fool southern flounder in the marsh down in SC. It worked well!!
I'll have to try that!!SH27 - hooking the 3-4” GULP! grubs thru the eyes instead of trying to thread the body onto the teaser’s hook makes all the difference!
Just send them to me!
Never used those either. I always stick to a few. I really need to start switching up when I'm not catching. How do you like the squid teasers on the right. Logic says they should be hot. For me, in the Sound, the hair always worked better.
Tried last year from the surf, in the bay for fluke. Not much luck. When fishing in the surf for fluke, a 1/2 or 3/4 ounce jig head or bucktail tipped with a 4" gulp mullet about 12" below a 3/0 bait holder hook with a 3" gulp shrimp or mullet works well.
Great stuff! I picked up a couple of the squid teasers from him at the last Ward Melville fishing show, and they're in my category of 'too nice to fish'. Illogical I know, but any time I'm out there and about to tie it on, I think 'is the bite really good enough to warrant using this now?'.
I managed to hit on a few as bycatch in the bay last year. The one thing I'd note is that they were really early. I managed to bag a few shorts as bycatch near some fast moving water when working a bucktail for bass.Tried last year from the surf, in the bay for fluke. Not much luck.
just put these together..one has a Harvey....dunk this baby and HOLD ON!! THE PINK teaser is the HIGH one
