In the old days, when these things were solely done by mail, you could delay very easily. If you "forgot" to answer a question and mailed it back, they would mail you a new, blank form, which you could "forget" another section. You could easily stall for a good 3 - 4 months. I stalled long enough to move out of NY, and when I got called by IL, we were living in Ireland.

Yup, I've yet to sit on a jury. Let see if I can keep that string going until I'm on the other side of the sod...
I have no problem doing it, it’s just I can’t do it during my work season. I got picked twice to be on a case, they dismissed me both times?. First case I was 18-19 years old. was a he said/she said case of a Cop vs. a defendant. I told the DA I have tons of cop friends and wouldn’t trust a cop as far as I could throw him. ??
2nd time I was about 21 and Rhode my motorcycle to court. When the DA saw my helmet he dismissed me as the case was a motorcycle accident case.

Celebrating a sub 6:30 minute completion of a NYT daily crossword puzzle with a glass of port, a new personal best, first sub 7:30 completion.

It was tomorrow's puzzle, which is available at 18:00 on Sunday. I'm lucky if I can get a Sunday puzzle in less than an hour...

Guy I use to work with did it everyday when ever something nautical/fishing showed up he would ask me for advice .......I felt special
Oh you're "special" all right. I'll leave it at that... ;)

My crowning achievement of catching the NYT editors in a mistake. Many years ago, before America lost the America's Cup, the clue was "America Cup challenger".

Well I went through every boat from Australia and England that ever challenged for the America Cup, the only countries that had challenged at that time, and there were no 8 letter boats. Then it struck me, the answer was INTREPID, but wait, Intrepid was a successful 2-time America Cup DEFENDER!!

I wrote a letter to Editor Eugen Maleska and received an official "Gotcha" certificate!!
