Hello Ny Anglers!
I finally found the time to splash my boat yesterday. I left around 2pm and ran outside the Nissequogue. I saw about 1/2 dozen boats drifting a popular edge outside the river. I started looking for signs of bait, non of which I could find. So I began my trial and error on different depths. I found a small patch of fish the produced 15 fish with most between 12-15 inches and two 20-inch keepers. I was in 21-23 feet temps were 56 surface. All of my fish were caught with a bucktail and teaser. All took gulp spearing. The other plus was the birds didn't touch them. This is looking similar to last year so if you're looking for keepers now is the time. You will need to make short drifts as soon as you find them. If you're just drifting along for long stretches you're pretty much wasting your time.
@Leprechaun Check out this great outfit I used!
