  2. Hold down the shift key and click Restart.
  3. Click the option Troubleshoot and then Advanced options.
  4. Go to “Advanced options” and click Start-up Settings.
  5. Under “Start-up Settings” click Restart.

  7. Windows 10 starts in Safe Mode.
After you get it to start in Safe Mode, and it may take 5-10 minutes, power it down again, and then power it back up. If it "worked" and it repaired itself, it should start up and behave itself.

If that doesn't work, it's time nuke everything, wipe the HDD and reload. Of course you have a backup, right??? I just love asking that question, it's so "basic", but NOBODY does it.

"Roccus Saves", and when something goes wrong, he selects a backup that's a couple of days before it hit the fan, a very empowering practice...

Did Rajeesh successfully beat daily backups into your thick skull?? Props to him.

Yeah, Safe Mode in Win10 is truly a PITA. Don't know why the made it so difficult. It's the strongest tool in the tool box. Guess folks like Worst Buy's Geek Squad twisted Micro$hat's arm to keep them in business, charging folks $150 to do just what I suggested...

I understand he has an extra one now and could wipe and reload for your computing pleasure. He was too lazy to do that for himself and bought a new one...

Let me know if I should get him working on it and we could have the Mule bring it down on his yearly LI trip...

It is now 8:53 PM on 5/31/2021 & I come to you all from my lap top computer. Thank You
John

Keep in mind I'm not a computer guy, When I restart, "safe mode" will be turned off? & the initial problem still exists?
John

I did restart, & I don't think it's working 100%, but it is working 100% better than it was if that makes any sense. Thanks again. This afternoon all I had was a blank white screen.
