Arrived at our winter HQ on New Year’s eve and were fortunate to jump on our friend’s 45 Viking The SILKY, Capt John Bagwell’s ride early the next morning for the New Year’s Day tournament in KONA. Landed first billfish of 2019 20 minutes after start fishing was called, 40 lb spearfish for the grill. Tagged a small blue later in the day, not in the money but a great way to start the winter

One of our best vacations! We just did the sightseeing thing, operating out of the Hale Koa, Armed Forces Recreation Center hotel on Waikiki !
Wife loved renting a tandem out of Kailua Bay, ended up buying one here. I don't fish on vacations.
