George Smith was murdered on Sunday evening.

There were 5 other people in his house: Mr. Smith's wife, his personal cook, a butler, a housemaid, and a gardener.

They all told Detective Stevens what they were doing that evening:

■ Mrs. Smith was reading a book near a fireplace.

■ The cook was making breakfast.

■ The butler was giving instructions to workers in the living room.

■ The housemaid was washing the dishes.

■ The gardener was watering plants in the greenhouse.

Right after all the conversations, the detective arrested the murderer.

Who was the killer, and how did Stevens find the criminal?

whu dun it.webp

I'll take a shot. The killer was the cook. Mr Smith was murdered on sunday EVENING. There's the clue. Why did he give an alibi that he was making breakfast. Breakfast in the evening? Obviously a lie.

Lying Butler

All good stuff guys. So I saw this post on LinkedIn the other day. My first suspicion was the Cook, because who makes breakfast in the evening. But then, I was thinking it could be the Butler.
I will post the original LinkedIn post from the author below.

the Detective had to release the Cook for insufficient evidence...

the Cook looks like hes Italian, Italians get blamed for everything...

the Housemaid washing dishes.?, everyone knows every house use dishwashers these days and she was prolly hanging wit da Cook inda kitchen making mozzarella..

the Butler dosent look the type to hurt anything, just look at him, well groomed, smiling, weak shoulders, scared., hes prolly Gay too...

Ms. Smith dosent look like the type to read by the fireplace, shes more likely to be screwing the Gardener inda greenhouse and the came up wit a scheme to kill her hubby.. that Y the Gardner's hands are in his pockets...

it was the Gardner & Wife, every classic 1940's murder mystery movie had an ending like dis... cellfish...

Love it Cellie!!

Thanks for answering but I think that's flawed reasoning. McDonalds & IHOP serves breakfast 24hours now so breakfast. so he could still be making breakfast at night. Me and Cany, sorry Cany and I are too smart for children games.
