the "What are you doing NOW" thread (part deux)

just got back from dinner @ Bizzotto's only to learn that Miguel (owner) is apparently on his deathbed with leukemia - left hospice & wanted to be at home

this all happened while I was up in NY & Richmond earlier in September...

Sad, sad news. Lost his son a few months ago & now.........

Been wearing glasses for 15yrs with the same script for about the last 5. Go once a year to the eye Doc & needed a new script this time. I'm gonna be 74 in a few weeks (I hope), so parts are wearing out. Thanks for asking.

Heading for the tackle shop got $25 burning a hole in my pocket.........John
Does $25 even get you a dozen worms anymore? Or you could buy a single one of those new, John Skinner Pimped Plugs? I'm lucky in that the nearest tackle shop is an 80 miles round trip so I collect/catch any bait I might use, and scour the internet for the best prices on gear.

Last fall, in fear of an impending supply chain shutdown, I bought 8 dozen of my favorite plug and found the ridiculously low price of $3 each, something that costs around $8 in a tackle shop. Besides that, I've got inventory of everything else including reel parts, line and extra spinning rods, so I'm set for 2022 too.
