Whats going on in the World

I was always taught. You are ultimately responsible for your own actions. No matter what somebody tells you, advises you, promises you. His finger pulled the trigger. Very simple.

And this is how it starts... I've clipped portions from a newspaper article articulating how quickly misinformation can poison the waters. All political reference deleted so nobody feelings gets hurt...

GREAT FALLS, Mont. — In the summer of 2020, as pandemic shutdowns closed businesses and racial justice protests erupted on American streets, Rae Grulkowski, a 56-year-old businesswoman who had never been involved in politics but was alarmed about what was happening to the country, found a way to make a difference.

Ms. Grulkowski had just heard about a years-in-the-making effort to designate her corner of central Montana a national heritage area, celebrating its role in the story of the American West. A small pot of federal matching money was there for the taking, to help draw more visitors and preserve underfunded local tourist attractions.

Ms. Grulkowski set about blowing up that effort with everything she had.

She collected addresses from a list of voters and spent $1,300 sending a packet denouncing the proposed heritage area to 1,498 farmers and ranchers. She told them the designation would forbid landowners to build sheds, drill wells or use fertilizers and pesticides. It would alter water rights, give tourists access to private property, create a new taxation district and prohibit new septic systems and burials on private land, she said.

None of this was true.

Yet it soon became accepted as truth by enough people to persuade Montana’s leading politicians and organizations, including the farm bureau, to oppose the proposal and enact a state law forbidding the federal government to create any heritage area in Montana. It is a ban that the state has no authority to enforce.

The way I'm seeing it at the moment, they were filming a shooting scene. Baldwin was to fire at someone, but he aimed away slightly (saving actor's life) and struck the photography director and asst director standing behind her.

Bottom line - pick a better sight line if you're afraid of shooting the actor.
WHAT??

Very simple. You are holding a GUN. PROP or otherwise. Would you trust ANYONE before you pull the trigger.
I don't even trust myself without an additional check!! Even though I'm 1000% sure that any weapon I pull from my armory was placed there unloaded, and most are stored with empty breeches visible, I still reflexively check to see and verify there's nothing in the chamber. Hell, my ammo is stored at the other end of the house.

Even in a store when I pick up a rifle/shotgun to get the feel of, the first thing I do is check that that weapon is not being pointed at anyone or will be as I put it up to my shoulder.

This event is going to be a Fluster Cluck of immense proportions...

Its a movie set not you checking your 410 before you shoot porky

Yeah it was a movie scene do you think every actor in hundres of movies checks the prop guns before shooting them lol
You do get it was a movie set right?
This will be the last response on this topic, at least from me. Somebody hands you a weapon, although "modified" for the current situation and looks into your eyes and says, "all good bro". You do not ask any questions when a life is at stake? Don't answer....................that's for you to think about. Not me!

That was done. Let's now prevent any more lives lost!!!
You going to check all the prop guns on movie/tv sets all over the globe? It was an accident and a freak one at that theres only one person who knows why that gun had live ammo in it give it a rest on the gun control BS

That is the responsibility of the prop dept and the prop manager on a movie set.....

Now if you are talking about when ur friend Joe Blow hands u a gun and says "all good" ....YEAH U CHECK THAT FOR SURE

I'll bet John WayNe AND Clint Eastwood did exactly what alec did....otherwise the movie would never get done with all the bullets they had flying around
