New Smoker

Chinacat

Well-Known Angler
My neighbor decided smoking wasn't his thing and rolled this over into my backyard
Only downside I'm not overly thrilled about is it uses pellets and not wood
Had some corned beefs in the freezer that we are thawing out and gonna try a recipe to make them into pastrami

Can you get "specialty pellets" or do you just use them for heat and add the flavor woodchips in?

It's electric based so i'm guessing the pellets are heated by the electricity to generate smoke.
I think the most specialty I can get are different flavored pellets.
I've always used wood or chips so it will be an adjustment

I gots to read da book/manual LOL

Dam Chinacat I wish I had a neighbor like that.
That a Green Mountain pellet smoker, that is one fine smoking machine.
Does it have WiFi?
It looks like the Jim Bowie Prime to me
they aren't cheap.

It is a GMG and the model is PEAK
It does have WiFi but I didn't even think to attempt that yet
My neighbor has a high end BBQ/Outdoor kitchen cleaning and service company and got a good deal on a bunch of these to re-sell

WiFi??? Don't get me wrong, love technology, but somethings are not meant to be interconnected.

OTH, I could hack in and find out what time the pork shoulder is ready. I wouldn't come empty handed, nothing goes better with BBQ than Allagash White and some fresh oysters...
