Having my post-workout Margarita and Ibuprofen "snack". Spent the last few hours setting up the Roccus, Zero Carbon Emissions and Zero Cost Christmas Tree Farm, so I from about 4 years from now I'll never have to pay for a natural tree for the rest of my life. This "plot" is in addition to many assorted balsams I've planted all around the yard over the year.

Zero Cost - trees "liberated" from the across the road 24/7 Dig Your Own Tree Farm

Zero Carbon - I humped the wheel barrow myself, didn't use the lawn tractor to tow

@Chevy1 Quick Question: In the past I don't start trimming the trees until one full year post transplantation? Is that right or should I trim them a bit when I transplant?

Nice to know I'm actually doing something right.

I am known as the "Birch Whisperer" in the neighborhood. My transplant success rate for them is well over 90%, but I figured out the secret and that is to make sure you only take a tree that is out in the middle of nowhere, not any other birches so its root system is all its own. People don't realize that birches are like aspens, poplars and Borg, they're all part of the collective. My other secret is to "match the hatch." If there's a nice single birch in the middle of a wet area, I'll plant that in a damp part in my yard...
