My son, who is/was currently living at home tested positive. I had no symptoms and tested negative. 2 days later I showed symptoms and tested positive.
We were both 2X vaxed. Neither got that sick. If it were not at the height of the Omicron outbreak, neither of us would have gotten tested and we both would have thought it was a typical winter cold.
 
Except that you will never know had you both not been vaccinated that the china virus would have hit you harder. You simply will just never know.

And Pequa1 is correct you’ll simply never know if the vaccine helped or didn’t help in reducing your severity

Many many ppl got it before the vaccine without major problems and many have gotten it after with major complications

It is 100 percent possible that like most new viruses this ones just running it course

I’m glad most folks simply are not paying it much mind

At this point, the question to ask is how many of you have lingering effects AFTER having had Covid: Shortness of breath, Brain Fog, loss of taste, etc. (Brain fog since the 60s doesnt count)

Many of the major medical centers in NYC have set up LONG COVID clinics to help those who still suffer so it is more common than you think.

Just found out yesterday that my buddy's sister in law is suffering greatly from constant diarrhea a leftover from her late May bout with the virus. (She had to skip our Memorial Day barbecue. Yes, she was vaxxed and boosted. No matter. And the doctors have linked this ongoing malady to the virus. No cure as yet. she has to eat breakfast much earlier before leaving for work and can not eat anything during the workday. Everything goes right through her. Losing weight, weak.
And this was a woman with absolutely boundless energy.

I had the shits for three weeks. Guess the jabs extended it.

nobody ever knows anything to a certainty. Did the aspirin bring down my fever or would it have come down anyway? Did the antibiotics stop my infection? Odds are the vaccination was very helpful in keeping our symptoms in check.
 
Now deciding whether to get a second booster before our September cruise in the Med., or wait until we are back when they are supposed to have a more effective super duper booster, lol.

there have allegedly been one million deaths (in the USA) from this virus, which certainly should be a noticeable blip in a country of what, 330 million? However is there a non-political estimate of how many deaths there "should have been" and the deaths that actually occurred? Can we use January of 2020 as a start date and thus the entire year of 2020 and 2021, even with the miraculous vaccines that came out in what the spring of 2020 and saved "millions?"

According to the doomsayers it was three years and all the vaccinated were going to die off. So apparently I still have about a year and a half to live.

who needs stats...go by what you see and hear from personal contact...

before the vax i heard from and knew a few who actually died from this crap.

After the vax the people who were vaxed (like me) and actually got covid had very minor symptoms while those who did not had severe symptoms like my strong as a bull dumb as an ox nephew (who drinks the kool-aid) AND HAS 10 DAYS OF FEVER AND CHIT and still has after affects to this day, and others continued to die.

Now of course there are exceptions to everything....but my observation was the vax prevented many deaths and severe problems....don't need any stats...use your head

nature has a way of weeding out the weak genes , so we got that going for us

We'll never know how many died as a direct result of COVID-19 infection but it is a significant number. Vaccination saved lives but it didn't prevent infection or spread.
FWIW, I was vaccinated, boosted, got COVID-19, sick for 2days, and recently tested and I have no antibodies.
What does it mean?
We will be dealing with COVID same way we do the flu every year.
Hopefully it was a once in a lifetime event that is now just a nusance.
 
I had my third time after getting it from my wife who caught it at the Motley Crue show. We figured she was safe after not getting from her hubby and kids who've had it several times, but this variant took no prisoners. We're both vaxxed/boosted. Whatever, we're dealing but then the doc had us both try Paxlovid. I just wanted to let it go but gave in when he said it would help get back on the water sooner, LOL. It did nip it in the bud, but the stuff wrecked my taste buds and just sucked getting it down. The meds ran their course and then bang, we got sick again, and it was worse now. Be careful if they give you the anti-viral, unless you are in risk. That was prolly one of worst prescriptions I've been on period. Good luck out there!
