Benny is it gas...what happened?? leaking? How much was the quote 2 grand? 40 gallon?
Gas. 50 gallon.

Bought one of those water alarms at HD after we got some water in the basement from Ida. Was sitting drinking coffee and heard it beeping.

Saw water all over the floor in the boiler room. Shut the gas off, turned the water inlet off, then drained it.

First quote from a “friend” was $2,950. Second quote was under 2. They’re replacing it now.

Never ends lol.

Although I really can’t complain. The old one was 18 years old.

We converted to gas recently and were advised to do the same, but it is audible in the house but also tied into the security/monitoring system in case we are out/away. The same alarms for the washing machine.

Wow - that much??

We put 50 gallon water heaters in the Brit's building last year. Heater itself was around $500 - plumbers charged $200 per heater to hook 'em up.
