Annual Ward Melville Fishing Expo

I know that feeling. When I was in the reserves for 28 years I almost never was home for at least the first weekend of every month. (Although I did get out of a lot of "events" that I otherwise would have had to attend ? ) Yes, John Skinner always has something new, but if I am interested in the "conflict"...
I think the expo, at least the last time I looked at the "page", has been updated to mostly reflect the 2023 date, to include updated seminars, but there were still a "March 5" date here and there, which indicates to me that the 2022 "flyer" was updated.

I did see one significant change in the shuttle bus / parking. The shuttle bus still operates from 10 to 3 but is now going to run from the Elementary School on Arrowhead to WMHS and back and not from the gospel center on Old Town Rd. That is approximately twice as far to walk as in years past. Arrowhead Elementary is just behind Kohls on 347.

Besides the bus, the gospel center on Old Town Road provided an alternate parking lot when the HS lot fills up by 8:37 LOL .

( I wonder why no parking at the Norwood Elementary just across Old Town from the HS ?)

(Calling Missing Link 08 !)

88 miles each way for me......but I got some business to do wit some of them peeps.....plus i can harass Benny...so that's something. Plus me ole lady wants to go...that's gonna cost me sumptin for sure

understood, its just 40-42 miles one way for me. In general, the gym has a lot of the charters, cafeteria has the tackle.
Government and membership orgs seem to dominate the halls.

If I decide to hit the 9am surfcasting seminar I will go early enough to hopefully get a close spot. Otherwise the 10am shuttle is definitely worthwhile, have taken it at least 3 times, never crowded. What is weird is that this year the gospel center is apparently not available for parking or for the shuttle ( ? ) which has further south by half a klick. The gospel center on Old Town Road is hardly more than the walk from the lot behind the high school. The one in front closes EARLY. One of these days someone should record and post a video of some of the seminars, especially since it seems there are always two that you would like to see but at same time, different room.

I look forward to seeing all my old friends, and hopefully a few new ones, at my usual table in the Gym.

Although I am not on the Speaker Schedule this year, Pequa, if you have a large group or club you would like me to address, I would be happy to deliver my talk on the "North Fork Grand Slam" (Stripers, Fluke, Sea Bass, Porgy) at a mutually convenient time. No charge for the seminar; I just see it as another form of advertising.

If I can help some fellow fisherman, I am all in!

Hopefully someone here will see your post. Personally, I am not affiliated with any clubs and just kayak fish alone the backbay off Massapequa and in the fall surfcast my town’s ocean beach. Sold my boat last Palm Sunday and my usual fishing buddy moved away. Not a hermit, just not a joiner.

If nyangler.com has a booth, we could meet there. Is George going and have a booth?
Pretty sure the boss will still be in Florida. No table listed. You will have to be satisfied with my blue and white 'NY Angler' sweatshirt "showing the flag!" And before anyone asks, my loving SIL and son made it for me.

Club or not, Pequa, I would like to meet you in person at the show. We can share some information there and have some fun.
Please stop by if you get a chance. I will be in space #18 in the Gym.
