PM me your number. I’d love to go out for some flatties.

Where'd this cold snap come from? sheeeesh. Spoke to my tackle shop guy in Little Neck yesterday. says still no life in LNB.? CIAO, John

Was at East Coast Fishing Tackle yesterday. Mike there said some more reports of schoolies in LNB. Probably Douglaston side. I will be making my first fishing attempt for 2019 stripers there late this morning.

That sounds great even if it is just a couple. That plus something either bass or blues or both down south in Raritan chasing bunker into a mass die off up the Shrewsbury river it gives me hope that spring is right around the corner

Yes, i saw that about the bunker die off. we just need more dang sunshine and things will get started.8-)

Well we had the sunshine today at LNB. Also gentle SW breeze, high tide near noon and only 3 of us giving a shot for first time this year. no bites , bumps or sniffs.
gonna be really poor weather conditions until Sunday. will try then .I am ever hopeful. ? CIAO, John.

I was very well insulated against the honking North wind in my face at LNB this afternoon. threw stick baits, assassins and small tin. nobody was home again or because water color of coffee they could not see my stuff. Wind chill was only thing biting. Next time will wait for warmer day with wind from the South. one nice thing was a large oyster washed ashore. So guess bay is getting cleaner:)?

Thank God for hearty souls like you and my friend Rick 67 with out people like you and many other die hard fishermen fishing reports would be little to none I think.I used to be one of those die hard guys going flounder fishing in the teeth of a winter storm or standing on a beach or bridge for up to 24 hours but life has a way of changing your time schedule around and doesn't allow you to follow your heart as much as you used to or at least it has to to me?

Yup that's what I said and I stand by it.As of right now I don't know you well enough personally which hopefully will change as time and posts go on but heading out on a cold and windy day while most people are still wrapped in a cocoon of warmth at home makes you are hard core fisherman.I am sure these conditions probably seem tame to a lot of guys but still earn my respect for your effort great job !
