Could it possibly be because new members, who join the site hoping to learn and talk about fishing, are presented with "Well Known Anglers" who know/post squat about actually fishing, instead posting mundane items of day to day life???

Stacking wood every day for a week is quite illuminating, but certainly not newsworthy enough to incessantly post about...
