Jets

"1970" chants LOL ?
You G fans can't help but hate the Jets. And don't give me that BS that you root for them when the G men are out. My close friend is a lifelong g-fan and he and his son had dolls of Jet players to stick pins into when Sanchez got us into the playoffs. It's going to hurt to see them parading down the Canyon of Heroes.

  • The New York Giants have appeared in the Super Bowl 5 times, in 1986, 1990, 2000, 2007 and 2011. How many Super Bowls have the Giants won? The New York Giants won the Super Bowl 4 times, in 1986, 1990, 2007 and 2011.
I guess to be fair it is the Jets turn. But they better draft a good QB after A-Rod turns 40 in four months.

1999 broke my heart. Complete devastation..........nothing is a sure thing in football! Just ask the 49ers who had the best team last season.
Or biggest fear has come true. Yet we somehow won the game. The O line was great. Bechton was an animal. I'm thinking that there are a lot of seasoned backup QBs out there that are watering at the mouth.

I've totally let go of Rodgers. I'm used to stuff like this. I have confidence in the leadership that had put this team together and I'm confident they will find a replacement by weeks end.

One thing is for sure, they will not look like the Giants did against the Cowboys. That was the worst opening game defeat in history. In fact the Giants were in the bottom of the league in total defense, gave up the most points, and looked really bad at QB. Not to mention no O line and no ground yards. They have their problems and I'm personally not sold on Jones.

When my nuisance deer permit went to "only on weekends", I lamented the loss of watching 'New Jersey' football. Don't think I am going to miss much at all this season.

I wa 43 when I tore my distal biceps tendon while mowing the lawn! I had been maxxing the pushups and situps on the APFT and it took me 10 months of surgery and rehab before I could do so again. A-Rod is 40 in December, going on 41 if and when he returns to play. Hopefully he will remain the perfect mentor for Zach.

It's the hope that kills you.

The same Jets fans who welcomed Aaron Rodgers to New York with a roar as he ran onto the field Monday evening were silenced after a grand total of four snaps. Rodgers tore his left Achilles tendon in Monday night's victory over the Buffalo Bills, an injury that will end his season.

The moment I saw the boot, I knew it was time to move on. Being a dedicated Jet fan has prepared me for such moments. Initially, I was frustrated. He clearly should have thrown the ball.

However, looking at it objectively, I'd suggest he take the $50 million and step back. He's already established his legacy with four MVP titles and a Super Bowl win. Why jeopardize his future health and endure the intense recovery process? The rehabilitation from such an injury is extensive, demanding a considerable commitment to return to playing shape. It would require nearly a year of intense dedication. By retiring, he can recover at his own pace."

Agreed, he is retired and just doesn’t know it yet. Not gloating here after my own tendon rehab (and legs are harder.)

Maybe @cany should consider merging the two threads of the residents of good old Shea stadium under a St. Jude thread?? you know, the Patron Saint of Lost Causes...

What has your team done lately? Oh wait, you're closer to the Canadian League :) Lets not forget the Jets are tied for 1st place!

Oh, I don't have a dog in the football fight, at least the game that Americans call football. I'm more international in my "football" fandom...

Do have a long-term, nostalgic relationship with the Mets, who, like the Jets, continue to languish while proclaiming "This is the year", but the only sport I really care about is ice hockey. Of course the Rangers have been as disappointing as the Shea teams recently...

I’m a Yankee fan and Ranger fan. This is our year. We don’t need no stinking Rodgers. :)

@pequa1 aYou and a few others in this thread. But that's ok. I swear, I'm totally past it. There's nothing we can do but look forward. The scars of hearts past have hardened me. Their d and run game can keep them in any game. Listening to analyst they say the O line was terrible. I thought they were great. You need a good line to open holes when everyone knows your qb isn't throwing.
