With the cold weather setting in, the winter heat program of the thermostats coupled with the arrival of subfreezing temps in the AM, mean my early coffee routine must also shift into "Winter Mode".

The kitchen is in a 63°F night temp zone, and that's too cold a mug to have a lasting, hot cup of morning coffee. I compensate by shooting out a cupful of hot water from the Keurig, and allowing that to sit for a couple of minutes. After that, I load a real K-cup into the machine, dump the hot water and make myself a steaming hot cup of coffee...
