And I’m sitting in my nice quiet geerage wishing I was working

Sitting here listening to the rain which is keeping me from bringing the boat to get it's bottom painted... At least there's supposed to be a couple of hour break around lunch so I can get started with my "list" which includes getting both boat and mower in for beginning of season attention.
 
Just got a whiff of some sort of essential oil air freshener that the hotel we go to every year in Cape May uses. I started day dreaming about relaxing on the beach. Now back to reality...I’m working at a hospital in North NJ. Weather sucks.

Read a study once that said dementia and Alzheimer’s patients can remember things through sense of smell. It was an interesting read.

Quick neurophysiology lesson here. The sense of smell is the "oldest" of the senses from a embryological evolutionary standpoint. It's also the most "direct line" from the sensory organ to the brain so it is very "strong", and therefore often stimulates old, forgotten memories.

Damn, that’s why I got lit when I walked by and smelt that weed burning in the parking lot. I thought it was the second hand smoke when I leaned in the car to say hello to them little hoes burning a blunt!! I was just getting stimulated on some old memories officer...
