Would be very surprised if there is enough water for a deeper-water draft boat like the fireboats we're used too. Also the middle of the cathedral is a good 2 football fields from the water so they probably couldn't get it anyway.

Just got word that they didn't use helicopters, and probably fireboats, is the fear that the weight of water falling from great heights may bring down the walls.

some of those bridges are quite low. and the cathedral is not on the river. our river cruise boat had to lower its own bridge to get under some. not sure if a typical fireboat could work.
Selfishly am quite glad I got to see it a couple of years ago with my wife and our good friends.
