Daylight savings time

its the reason I turned down a job as an air traffic controller. I knew I could not handle the shifts. and it was a big reason why PATCO went out on strike in the first place.

yeah, the days off always advanced too, ex: monday / tuesday, then tuesday/ wednesday, etc… 2 weekends off of seven, yuck… living for the corporation… 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

my second career gave me a choice , steady off hours and days off…

i claimed 4/12 , off. tuesday-wednesday, it worked for me… cellfish…

Interesting that some of the most vehement time change complainers are retired. Not like it impacts your daily schedule at all, because that's something you set.

If the variation of hours of sunlight is bothering you, may I suggest you move to the equator where you're guaranteed 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of dark all year.

If it's just the pain of changing your clocks twice a year, you can move to Arizona or Hawaii where they don't change the clocks.

Only thing that drives my retired life is the tide, and I never have to adjust my tide clocks...

Sure I am retired. But why should that impede my efforts to educate others as to how useless and obsolete the practice is? The EU voted 6 years ago to rid themselves of the annoyance.

But why have it at all ? Standard vs dst ? Why ? History? With all the name changes and monuments being removed that can’t be it.

Bless me @cany for I have sinned, but I couldn't resist...

Let's call this a PSA. My truck automatically switches over, but the Admiral's Barge needs to be reminded in setup...

Don't even like the current timing and length of day below - get ready to shift it an hour earlier Sunday.
Now the sun is barely up when I leave for work, next week it'll almost be down when I leave work.

Move further North and have no sunlight in both directions during the dead of winter...

When I lived in Ireland, it didn't get light until 09:00 and got dark around 15:30.

On the flip side in late June it started getting light at 03:30 and didn't get totally dark until around 0:00...
