Chicago getting 'window dressing' treatment for Democratic National Convention: former chief

Chicago to create safety bubbles around Democratic National Convention sites as the city hopes to avoid the kind of unrest seen in the infamous 1968 clashes in the Windy City.

The city is facing a few complications: its stubborn problem with violence, the "wild card" of left-wing anti-Israel agitators, worn-down infrastructure, and the specter of the infamous clashes when Chicago hosted the DNC back in 1968.

Street and walkway upgrades are already underway. And according to a law enforcement source, the plan is to isolate the convention area from the rest of the city entirely, with access only for the media, law enforcement and DNC designees.

That is terrible. Don't they want to meet with their constituents? Their creation?

CNN host Kasie Hunt cut off her interview with the Trump campaign's Karoline Leavitt on Monday after Leavitt called out CNN debate moderators Dana Bash and Jake Tapper.

After Leavitt argued she was stating facts about Bash and Tapper, Hunt cut the interview off, her voice rising as she went back to the panel.

Senate Democrats plan for a 'tax Armageddon' in 2025

Senate Democrats said they are coming up with a "menu" of tax proposals for 2025 as they prepare for the expiration of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

However, those changes to the individual section of the tax code are poised to sunset in 2025, meaning that many taxpayers – including those who earn less than $400,000 – will face steeper levies if the law is not extended.

"If lawmakers allow full expiration to occur, most Americans will see their personal tax bills rise and incentives for working and investing worsen," said Erica York, senior economist and research director at the Tax Foundation.
Been saying this for years. Plus the out of control inflation hits EVERYONE, but especially the less fortunate.
The Congressional Budget Office estimates extending the TCJA would add roughly $3.7 trillion to the federal budget deficit.

Snopes finally admits media, Democrats were wrong about Trump

The pro-Biden media have lectured incessantly that Trump should be "fact-checked in real time." Meanwhile, the "independent fact-checkers" are hailed as saviors of democracy.

Old news. Already knew about the lies. Surprised they admitted fault. Rarely seen.

The left-leaning fact-checking website Snopes.com has spurred anger and anxiety among liberals for ruling, right before the first Biden-Trump debate, that former President Donald Trump never praised neo-Nazis at a Charlottesville protest as "very fine people" in a 2017 press conference with combative reporters.

Snopes checker Taija Perry Cook wrote that "while Trump did say that there were 'very fine people on both sides,' he also specifically noted that he was not talking about neo-Nazis and white supremacists and said they should be 'condemned totally.' Therefore, we have rated this claim 'False.'"

It's a welcome development, even if the timing is odd, except for the debate. It might inhibit Biden from one of his favorite attacks on Trump.
