I actually could decipher that, probably because my father also has dementia.
He was trying to say he served with the 1st black woman VP, and served with the 1st black President.
As usual he mangled it.

I always notice his hands are clenched a certain way while he's shuffling around. In the ABC interview he was clenching a pen for some reason.

If no interventions are put in place to remedy the situation, the hands of people with PD become stiffer, with fingers more curled up and eventually the ability to pick things up, grasp or push and pull is lost.
