Skunk on the bass

Headed out with Frank Sr and Frank Jr got out a little later then wanted to as it was pea soup the morning. The fog was very heavy in the harbor but lifted and off we went. Certainly no shortage of boats trolling and jigging, and even a few chunking. We had a shad rig out and a mojo that Frank jr was raking. There were plenty of marks on the screen but no takers after about two hours at it Frank Jr hooks up halfway in fish spits the rig. Gave it another hour and called it quits. Moved to a reef and tried for sea bass, had a few nice ones but shy of keeper size along with some porgies. Headed for home about 1 o’clock. Try again later in the week.

Summer doldrums.....fish Early and late in the day.

Always liked the July moon for Big Bass but with the slot size, I'd rather not play c&r with the big ones.
