had an awesome day Sunday as I finally timed the bite in the West End and I needed to do well as we were competing against two other clubs for the weekend scored a nice 6+ pound fish 4 1/2 pound fish and a couple of 3 1/4 pound fish for my son and I and our club did very well with 2 over 6 lbs from the same area ! Fish still arent stacking up outside keep to the bay , it doesn’t hurt to fish when the boat traffic is dead either, the idiots in afternoon the could ruin anybody’s day !

Hoping there's an offshore fluke bite near the Hempstead reef like we had last year. Was nice trolling out there for Bonito, Spanish Mackerel , Bluefish last summer from Jones out to the Hempstead Reef and then Fluking a mile West of the reef. So far I'm happy catching all the shorts I want at the Loop Bridge , wouldn't try there Sat./ Sun. Afternoon. When the winds die down I'm going out there to troll for those summer fish, maybe try drifting for fluke and I wanna pull up to a bunker pod and try sharking with a whole frozen bunker. Remember there's new shark regulations- you can only have an 18 inch wire leader and the hook can't be stainless steel.

i know an ocean fluke bite would be nice !
havent targeted bonito or spanish makerel i have some smaller trolling lures but never feel like killing a ton of time before fluking out there. Hard enough to get to a piece before the masses fish it out every weekend haha. smh
