Was an eventful weekend, weather was nice chilly in the mornings and warmed up during the day. Opening morning we headed in the woods well before Daylight with a full moon it lite the woods up. As we sat waiting for daybreak I said to my buddy let’s open the windows so we’re ready to go. As he opens the one window in the blind there it was a beautiful shooter buck right outside the window looking at us as the moonlight shined on him off he goes. As the morning goes on we see a second shooter buck, only this one is quite a ways away walking through trees no shot at him. The others saw a few Doe moving around but nothing to take. Saturday afternoon we all switched up hunting blinds, around three o’clock I see movement it’s a Doe and a yearling moving across the ridge. They went into the gun clue land and 15 minutes later bang. So that wraps up opening day. Sunday morning I’m in the wood blind and very quiet morning until about nine o’clock I look out and there is a deer feeding 25 yds away, it’s the yearling who is now on her own. Who being this close I can identify it as a button buck, not for everyone but me just to small. I know a lot of people would have shot but for me I passed and continued watching him fill his little belly eating. As far as the other guys didn’t see much. Sunday afternoon back in the wood blind and it was warm and quiet. About Three o’clock a shot rang out and one of the guys clean miss on a big Doe. About 4.30 I see movement so I pick the gun up only to notice my little button buck guy is back and again I watched him eat as he moved on. And that wraps up opening weekend, another nice weekend with the guys. The one photo you can Jr walking around.
