Wild Tarantulas on Long Island ?

Sounds crazy ! I did some research on Tarantulas after hearing about Gene Hackman's death in New Mexico. Saw how wooded it was around his house and wondered if Tarantulas were there. Sante Fe has a lot of Tarantulas even with cold winters there. Last week they had temps in the low 20's. Kansas, Utah , Colorado and Arkansas have Tarantulas . Florida had no native populations of Tarantulas until people starting releasing their pet Tarantulas.Considering all the people on Long Island, you wonder if any got abandoned and they somehow survived here ? What horror if we have them living on the Island . You ever see one in the wild ?

NY has Northern Black Widow Spiders and Brown Recluse Spiders. The Northern Black Widow Spider is the most venomous spider in North America. Wow ! 15x more potent than Rattlesnake venom and is one of the most deadly spiders in the world. So you might wanna be careful while reaching into confined areas . Funny I never knew they were in NY.

BTW, I met a Tarantula once. They're pretty harmless.
