Numerous defense officials — who watched senior brass scramble to Washington and then sit through a partisan speech from President Donald Trump and a return to old-school military standards by Hegseth — were left wondering why the event had occurred at all.

“More like a press conference than briefing the generals,” said one defense official, who, like others, was granted anonymity due to fears of retribution. “Could have been an email.”

Of course the military brass that attended will not make any public comments. That falls in line with the armed services long standing protocols.

Having watched the entire debacle, it was nothing more than a waste of time, and money. It turned out to be nothing more than Frump repeating all his lies that he tells every time he’s in front of a microphone. His campaign BS. As to Hogseth, it was embarrassing to see a TV host telling these career military men and women who have given so much of their lives for their country, how to do their job.

Hogseth did look very handsome though. I guess he’s taking advantage of the make-up studio he had installed next to his office.

Government shuts down after Congress deadlocks on spending deal

The federal government is entering a partial shutdown after Senate Democrats rebelled against a short-term spending bill.
