Whats going on in the World

Riverhead residents are not happy....

Nope................ Although, they enjoyed taxes not rising during the years it was overassessed. Maybe over the $1.6M in interest, although they had the use of the money during that time.

I suppose it's like you can pay me now or pay me later...
That is what happened. They kept overcharging the golf course. And now reversed. The anger will be the lack of transparency during the process.

" We are in a dispute with the golf course as to their tax assessment as we look to protect all residents. We are currently in a lawsuit which could go either way". So, upon the loss of the case, folks already knew.

Thoughts on this?
Kinda bullshit in that’s our money we gave to the government to hold for us. If it starts today we’d trip that and there’s NFW we’re representative of the definition of “wealthy” presented, $65 million my ass.

On top of that we get creamed by IRMAA so $100K limit is no where near what’s left after taxes, Medicare and IRMA.

In fairness, my retirement planning always assumed SS was bound to belly up…

And also the value of a home. Never want to be in a position of "have to sell this for down payment of that etc, loans expiring, interest lock in blah blah blah."

Pennsylvania House Democrats withdrew consideration of a resolution honoring March as "National Women’s Month" after a Republican lawmaker filed an amendment to include the physiological definition of "woman" in the text.

What was expected to be a quick, symbolic vote instead turned into a brief but telling floor moment, with Republicans forcing the question into the open and Democrats opting to shelve the resolution rather than define "woman" in legislation — leading to an eruption of laughter on the House floor.

Watch the video!!

What????? Saving a life and not randomly killing????

The insanity of the left. Great job officer!!

Not to second guess the officer who saved the life of a 1 year old using the Heimlich maneuver. Bravo to him for saving the kids life. The medical society generally approves the Heimlich maneuver for people over 1 year of age. There is a back slapping method for people choking for 1 years old and under.

CPR is also quite different. If you are interested in learning these techniques and getting certified go to the offshore board…….. Safety at Sea thread. We may be having a group class.

I did get certified years ago, but it has been a while. If the group class gets some legs, I might want to go through the training again.

The certification does expire IIRC I think it last for 3 years. Certain professions require that you keep it up to date including a Captain’s license. Being that you’ve taken the course you are still protected under the Good Samaritan Laws.

Is always good to take the courses as a refresher from time to time as things change. I know there was some debate not long ago among some of the medical associations as to the value of mouth to mouth during CPR. I’ve always used the “depends on what she looks like” criteria for that one.

Yeah, ask for a birth certificate before you administer aid.

I'm glad it was a success, and I understand you're sharing knowledge.

There's a bunch of people in my life that need to take this class. Problem is they're all over the place for time and location.
