Lock Jaw

With the heavy winds yesterday and a mild forecast for today wanted to get out. My brother visiting from Florida and my Nephew who lives along with Frank Sr. Plan was bass fish the end of the outgoing got out in the sound and there was a body of boats to the east. Made our way to one of our favorite drops trolling rods in. Not a mark on the screen made a few passes and moved closer to the fleet. Lines in and finally life on the screen, only problem they had lock jaw. Didn’t see any fish come up and after several sweeps we called it. On to the fluke grounds another species apparently with lock jaw tried all over even went in the back bay for warmer water. Everyone picked a few shorts except me. When I say a few my nephew was high hook with 2 😂 finally we had enough and headed for home maybe the end of week will try again.

I was out yesterday as well and same results. I tried from OB to Northport with stops along the way. Decent sized fleet of boats of EN Lighthouse and saw a few pull bass. Not seeing much in the form of terns, sand eels or any other bait in the water. Fished the entire outgoing for a short fluke and a robin. It was nice to be out but terrible fishing.

We started at the OB and made our east, very slow
