Joe, when dinning out, what restaurants do you think does steak right?

I recently went to a Outback and did not like the meat.
I have enjoyed Outback steak in the past but did not last two visits.

Typically have the Rib eye or Prime Rib, also have had their Fillet, PH & Sirlion. All ordered Medium Rare.

I know the difference of their Steaks to better Steak Houses but usually found them decent.

What do you think?

I like Rothmann's in East Norwich.

I only go out to eat steak a couple of times a year. I won't go to Outback, Longhorn or any other chain for steak.

If you are going to go for steak, go to the places that do it best.

I dont think I have ever been to a fancy steak joint
You should try it. There is a big difference between the franchise type place and the high end place.

Then again you can go and buy a high end cut of meat and cook it. The results should be the same.

Wow, good answers for the most part. Cany, you weren't at Rothmans that time we all went and somebody ordered the $200 bottles of wine? The steak was delicious!!! Never got to try the wine. I almost always buy "Prime" and if it isn't it's because someone messed up while grading it and it should have been. Meaning the marbling was good enough to be prime. Steak house's that claim to sell prime, choice or higher grade is where I personally would like to eat steak. Like crabby mentioned above.
10 dollars a pound for prime porterhouse is a great buy Mike. Grab a few of those and tell crabby to skip the tri.tip.
I prefer to buy it and grill it rather than spending a fortune going out
I agree! My favorite line is when the customer grrrrrrr at the price of her steak order for her dinner guest and or family is...

Hey!! At least you don't have to tip me 20%!!

He knows his cuts, he’s good with the knife and really puts on a show. But he’s going to seriously hurt himself or someone around him swinging and stabbing at the meat. I don’t care how much you successfully get away with it. It’s going to happen. That knife is going to get away from him and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near when it does. I know this trainee at work who loves watching this dudes vids and I see him stabbing and flipping the primals he’s cutting up for grinding. When I see him doing it I bark at him. Hey dude! Respect that knife.( It will bite you when you least expect it!) But hey. Is he good? I’d say a little to good for his own good.?

Yeah, I agree.... with JB.

I noticed on a few moves I thought he was going to cut himself, especially wen he made the move around the neck removing the head.

He did though slice it perfectly in the correct spot and a great cracking move...not sure if it was altered but looked cool.

If your talking about the breaking down the whole lamb. That was legit Mike. One of the things I dislike is when he removes the silver skin from the filet, twisted up real fast then toss it up and smacks it away with the knife.

Yes, the lamb.

I wonder if we would have seen the vid if the knife flew into the camera persons neck?
