Pandora Radio

You really need to explore or you can keep kvetching

1. All streaming music is MP3. If you rip your own CDs you can rip with no compression like I do.

2. Get the correct audio plug and send your computer output to your audio system or find a network D to A converter with audio outputs.

so I'd have to burn a CD from Pandora so that I could download it to my computer (doesn't that just re-compress the files?) so I can then plug the computer into my sound system to listen to it? I'd just keep the CD.......

No need to burn a CD or download it just go to pandora.com and listen

I listen to Pandora while I'm on the puter. Right now I'm listening to youtube, I went there to post Stormy Monday Blues to a thread and it's been mixing Clapton since.

if I want to listen on the computer while I'm on the computer I just stick a CD into the computer - actually - I'd probably just put the CD into 1 of my three sound systems because they'll be wherever I am with the laptop. Should that not be the case - see CD into computer.

See my replies to Dom on why that is not practical for the way I listen to music - AND - I want it through my system for the sound. Not out of my laptop. Not out of my phone (which is not capable of receiving Pandora anyway). I'm not plugging the laptop into my stero equipment.

Actually - I should just stay out of this thread is what I should do.............................

I've got an Oontz Angle 3 bluetooth speaker, my phone is hooked into the office wi-fi and I'm streaming WPDH Poughkeepsie via Chrome from their website. I've got a JBL Clip (water resistant) in the shower at home to stream MP3's in the morning when getting ready for work.

I'm listening to things I don't have.

Who what lol

What I really like about the Amazon Music unlimited is that I can listen to any artist, any album, any song anywhere I usually am, in the truck, on the boat or at home. Tough to beat that for $8 a month. No need to hassle with CDs, converters, etc.

Oh, Larry, I have a really really good sound system.

Hit the nail on the head!!
You'll need to change your listen habits and make some system modifications to use streaming music.

I still can't figure out why you haven't ripped your CDs to non-compressed formats and stored them electronically; some much easier than jewel boxes all over the place and "Which player did I leave the Clapton Unplugged CD?" moments!!

And let's face it, vinyl, not digital media, is still the purest sound. I had a British LP of Sgt. Pepper that was the most amazing example of audio media I ever owned. However as we age, our ears ain't so good no more so we may spend too much time for having a level of sound reproduction we can't discern. Kind of like gamers that spend thousands of dollars so their computers can refresh their screens at a speed that the human eye can't detect; IMHO that's a waste of money with no ROI.

I already told you why it's not for me - don't need it. If you saw the layout of my house you'd understand. My music is within easy peasy reach..

AND

this caveman has hearing aids so's I get all the nuances of the music

I'm a former Pandora listener now a big fan and subscriber of Spotify
