Thank goodness for Anthony Fauci. In an interview with a reporter he was asked what wants to do when 45 makes a scientific faux pas...

“I can’t jump in front of the microphone and push him down,” Dr. Fauci said. “OK, he said it. Let’s try and get it corrected for the next time.”

It should be noted that Tony has advised every president since Reagan...
It was disconcerting when first Dr Birx and then Dr Fauci missed a couple of the daily briefings. Both are back.

I've been trying to google this with no luck - maybe too early (?) - does anyone now if these "stimulus checks" we're all supposed to be getting will be considered taxable income?

The proposal currently calls for giving that money as a credit against your taxes.

“So this wouldn’t be taxable, because it’s your own money back essentially,” said Jeffrey Levine, director of advanced planning at Buckingham Strategic Wealth in Long Island, New York.

I don't know what that means.

thanks jpd:
Ultimately, however, the package will be “reconciled after the fact” with a person’s 2020 earnings, meaning if you earn more or less this year, you stand to either pay back some of the bonus or get a bigger rebate next year.

So it is taxable is what I'm getting out of that. Based on that I don't know that I want it. I already owe for 2019 & was going to use this to help payoff that. So I use it to pay past taxes & then get hit again when I file for 2020.

I originally thought this to be a straight "Here ya go - have fun & don't spend it all n one place" kinda thing. Not something that comes with strings attached.

I think it is taxable, but that segment is explaining the cutoffs. If you made less than the $99k in the 2018 base year but more than $99k in 2020 when you file then you might have to give back money.
