The COVID-19 Science and Medicine Question Thread

Tony. You really need to read more carefully. What Roccus is saying it that your Doctor could be the best in the world. That has nothing to do with the early tests. Those early tests were not very reliable with positive results as many gave false positives. It has zero to do with your DR. SMH
it’s not about dom or what he said

it’s about “ the science” in general
It’s way way to far out their , and all over the map
To be taken seriously
mans it’s certainly to in accurate to crucify the world economy

Everything about about covid is one giant contradiction

everything

I’m done with their bullshit contradiction

you guys hide under your beds
You can stay their the rest of your natural lives for all I give a crap
if that’s where your comfortable and that’s what you feel keeps you safe it’s all good

but on a personal level for me I’m done
Stuff your “ science” , stuff your mask, stuff your gloves
And stuff your bullcrap snowflake attitudes all straight up your butts

then put your heads back in to seal them shut

Not you personally dom
I simply don’t have the faith in the data you do

with all the contradictory stuff bandied about
And the information being reported as data

the phrase garbage in garbage out comes to mind

if all the”data” gets pluged in somewhere and I know it all does

what’s coming out the back end
Smells to high heave

Youd think that
But you would be wrong

both take a leap of faith
And a full buyin To be accepted by a person or group
Both are often wrong
And both are used to lead the masses around by the nose

Pretty similar to me

It's there, at least on a computer screen. Maybe you were looking on reduced size screen on your smart phone. See the green PRINT REPORT button in the upper right hand corner. Then you an choose the Advanced and Detailed Report option to get all the info...

If it makes you feel better, call me a Bozo all you want, but please leave esteemed colleagues like Drs. Fauchi and Birx out of your rants. I know that these folks have saved millions of lives during their distinguished careers.

Personally "This Bozo" started saving 7000 US lives per year in 1986 when he was involved in getting the first AIDS blood screening assay into production and out on the market. That was followed up with the first Hepatitis C assay for blood screening. After that, this Bozo was responsible for the oversight of all the blood screening assays used by the American Red Cross and most of the blood banks across the world. So I'm confident Dr. Bozo Dom has saved hundreds of thousands of lives , probably millions, with the help of esteemed colleagues to use science to solve real global health issues. That fact makes one feel good about what they've done for mankind.

Data never kills, ignoring it does. I hope you never have to watch a loved one die if someone chose to ignore irrefutable data because it was the expedient thing.
Inaccurate data kills
Inaccurate data from multiple inaccurate sources kills
Making bad decisions based on bad data and information kills
Ramping up bogus testing and then inputting the results to formulate options kills

what your calling science I’m calling bullshit

good accurate science I’m ok with

This bullcrap is about as accurate as fisheries scientists pulling trawls across barren bottom and saying there are no fish

They are not conducting science they are talking a leap of faith
In science
You’d be better off in a pew

sorry but the scientist are and have destroyed their credibility
With me and with a very large swath of the country

if you don’t see that your blind or your just ignoring what’s becoming painfully obvious

They weren’t there originally just negativr

now there is a link to that report
and under the negative it says results need your review

I'll take science over faith any day. I have heard God will protect me from those not getting covid 19 and it's Gods will from those who did...which is it?

Science doesn't like faith or unknowns. It likes facts and proof....that road is often long...science is on that journey now

The difference is I know mine are opinions
And for some reason a bunch of you think your dealing in facts
And that the “data” is gospel

it’s all one big crap sammi

and too many are buying into it in hopes of
Being safe

safty is and always has been an illusion

OK children, cut the BS, whining, temper tantrums and other assorted stuff. This is a SCIENCE thread. If you don't believe in it, then don't post on this thread. There's another Coronavirus thread that you can freely vent your bile.

Got a question? Ask it and I will answer it honestly with the best science I can find at the current moment. Have some data that seems to contradict conventional wisdom, post them! I'll gladly discuss and research it; that's what this thread is for. I'm learning volumes here and I love to learn.

Got an opinion? Take it to the other thread.

Want to discuss economic impact of actions being done as a result of this pandemic? Take it to the other thread, my PhD. is in Physiology and Biophysics, not economics. That being said, it doesn't take a PhD in Economics to realize the huge ramifications and impact of these actions to protect human life. Living where I do, with a huge small business economy based in hospitality, I'm wondering about how many of my favorite small shops and restaurants will be around by the end of this. I too look at the lines at the food banks with great sorrow; guess where my stimulus check went? I'm blessed in that I am able to give it to others who need it more than I do.

Got a conspiracy theory? Go to the other thread UNLESS you actually have verifiable data. For example I just learned that the PLANDEMIC Video is based on a 1998 paper in Science that was retracted 2 years later because no one could reproduce it. Shades of the anti-vaxxers quoting studies that the original author later said was invalid.

Don't like using masks and social distancing? Take it to the other thread. There my be others there who may care. FACT: These things do help prevent disease transmission, like them or not.

Please keep in mind that science is in constant flux so things change. What's "correct" today, may be BS tomorrow, and that's what makes science interesting.

that whole rant and you pissed it away with one line
Science is in flux what’s true today may not be true tomoorw

So In laymen’s terms
Pay no attention the data I’m giving you as truth today for it may simply be garbage tomorrow

kinda what I said

Ppls lives are being ruined on garbage science that changes by the second and that’s a fact

and I won’t limit it to any one forum or any one thread

don’t like it
Piss off

After a walk to, around and back from our local park, and I hope I am wrong, but after seeing all the house parties going on I can only imagine that by May 24th there we be a bit of an increase in the numbers.
I agree.
Roccus-
Is there any specific formula of how long it will take for the #'s to rebound back up again?
Is it even possible to calculate.
It does seem logical that if it hasn't disappeared and people are mingling again the #'s will go back up?
