So with the fluke not really cooperating for me this year I was eagerly awaiting the opening of Seabass season here in NY. I was able to get out on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday this week. We fished for them in the Sound at Cranes Neck as well as the Middle Grounds. What the heck is going on, are the fish also in quarantine? Total keepers for the boat so far is only 4 and not a heck of a lot of shorts either. Now I do say I just love being on the water and catching fish is just a plus but I really did expect a bunch of action even if they were shorts. My grandson has been coming with me and even though his 1st seabass on the season was a keeper (big smiles) I want to put him into some good action. The quantity or quality just doesn't seem to be there for me and I am surprised. Guess I'll have to wait for a decent wind and hit the South shore. I know, I know thats why they don't call it catching. Lol
